Q: How far ahead should a manga creator develop their story for it to be viable?

It depends on the creator, but I feel there are many who already have a climax (ending) in mind by the time they bring their idea to the table.
That said, I don’t believe that developing a full story before starting is something to be encouraged. This is because when a story is serialized, the reactions of the readers, and the way the characters interact with each other often move the direction of the story in a way that differs from how it was originally planned.
