Manga are Movie Storyboards! – Close coverage from the moment the manga comes to life –

The next Silent Manga in Action short film is going to be directed by Kazushi Watanabe, an energetic director at the forefront of the Japanese film industry. It’s set to be based on one of the works from the Comic Zenon Manga Audition, the domestic competition which served as the model for Silent Manga Audition. We’re going to be watching closely, and reporting to you the step-by-step process of breathing life into this manga! This is our second update!! Before we take a look at the making of Silent Manga in Action, we’d first like to introduce Silent Manga in Motion!

If you go to the above page on the official SMAC! website, you can see the award winning works from SILENT MANGA AUDITION that have already been made into Motion Comics! Of course, there may be those among you who are asking “What are motion comics?” Allow us to explain! Neither anime nor live-action, a Motion Comic is a manga where the pictures literally move! Using the winning works, this was our first project to illustrate the potential of manga!! It’s most distinctive feature, is that it uses the same “lines” that the artist drew!! Because the lines are the exactly the same, the original “flavor” of the artist is preserved, meaning that Silent Manga in Motion is the most faithful to the original work.
