Akane Cian, who won the Excellence Award in the SMA Taiwan Round with her adorable and unique story Sunshower, has now won her second award! The SMA Taiwan Round winners swept the 15th Kyushu International Manga Award, with Akane Cian’s The Rooftop Santa winning a Future Talent Award, as well as Ciwaz’s work winning the top prize. As an Future Talent Award winner, The Rooftop Santa was also introduced in the July 2025 edition of Monthly Comic Zenon!

The Rooftop Santa is a silly and moving story about a down-on-his-luck young man who makes a new little friend, Teddy. Teddy is convinced that the protagonist is Santa Claus, and the protagonist doesn’t have the heart to disappoint his little friend…  until another Santa crash lands into the abandoned house on their rooftop!
