Along with Alex and Fima, we invited another award winner, Erwin Prasetya for interviewing and dining together. His manga “Roach Story” received one of the “Winner Runner-Up” awards. It was an interesting point of view, to have a cockroach, globally an unpopular creature along us humans, at the centre of the story. “It was a simple idea that I thought can be fun, if something a girl really hates, fell in love with that girl.” Says Erwin. It’s hard to find anything more despised by girls than a cockroach, whether you are in Indonesia or anywhere else! Drawing about a subject that is extreme in some way, is a great way to give your Manga a twist. His work is a fine example to this. 🙂 He uses ComicStudio, another of Celsys’s finests. He also works mainly in digital environment. For inspirations, he looks to Takeshi Obata, Masashi Kishimoto, and Akira Toriyama. He actually taught himself how to draw, by trying out styles of his favourite Manga artists. He is a dedicated Manga-ka, making living out of drawing. So how did he find in drawing for Silent Manga Audition? “It was a big challenge to ‘talk’ via illustrations only”. How did it feel to have his manga on Comic-Zenon? “So happy to fulfill my childhood dream.” I’m sure the readers were equally happy to read a good Manga from Erwin!   Being a professional, Erwin has drawn in various mediums ranging from websites, magazines to established American comics. Some of his works are available via his deviantart page. http://www.bladebunny.com http://tyo-kuuma.deviantart.com We wish him the best of luck in Manga creation, and hope we will receive more Manga from him in future!
