MANGA INSIDER MAYU SPECIAL – "A DAY AT COMIKET" Hello everyone! After a long silence… Manga Insider is back! This time, I have something a little different for you… If you love manga, then you might have heard of Comiket (short for Comic Market). Comiket is the largest doujinshi market in Japan, and the world. That is, it’s a huge market where amateur artists can sell their creations. Comiket is held twice a year, once in the middle of August, and once in December, so that it overlaps with the Japanese vacation periods. The August event is called “Natsu-Comi” (Summer Comiket) and the December event is called Fuyu-Comi (Winter Comiket). This year, the 88th Comike took place on August 14th – 16th, and the 89th Comike is planned for December 29th – 31st. This annual event, which attracts more than 500,000 people over a period of 3 days, is not to be missed! This is my Comiket report for Comiket 88th, written along with a few pointers to make the most of the day. If you ever have a chance to attend Comike, this report will definitely help!
